Podcasting[edit]

Just for grins and to make sure it's recorded in the history of alternate terms to 'podcasting' here is a link to a 9/26/2006 Slashdot article that, among other things, discusses Apple "... going after the term 'podcasting'" and quotes the venerable Robert Scoble "... -- whose own company, PodTech, may be at risk in this witch hunt -- has weighed in on the issue by suggesting that the tech community as a whole adopt other terms like "audiocast" and 'videocast' (or alternately, 'audcast' and 'vidcast') to describe this type of content..." Good idea since the physical magazine is what most people would be looking for on a search of audio magazine rather than a disambiguation page. Aha! The slashdot link I looked at was no good for the specific phrase "audio magazine" but the Google search was. I can see now how a subscription to a podcast is being called an audio magazine.
