Is the length range correct on this? I just saw one last week that was at least 4 feet (120 cm) long.
- I double checked in Reef Fish Idenfication by Humann & Deloach and they say that trumpetfish are between 1.5 and 2.5 ft (max 3ft). So we should probably increase the size indication in the article to 45-90 cm (1.5 - 3 ft). How do you know that this one was at least 4 ft? Remember that everthing looks larger underwater. Something that looks 4ft is probably more like 3ft if you would measure it. Janderk 10:42, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
I've fished the middle greounds for 22 years and have seen at least 15 fish 4 ft. and not larger than 5ft. Not in the water but caught on the Florida fisherman 1 and 2. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.200.213.94 (talk) 03:46, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
The length or size of many fishes and other creatures (many shells) is just how long they can avoid dying as they just keep on growing.
The text also states that some Trupetfish are yellow and I've just seen that on Bonaire at the Diva beach at about 10 meters deep. As far as I know it is a temporary state of males when they are rutted or infatuated by females. My dated picture shows the couple while in that state and ignoring every move I made while diving from the surface and swimming around them with my SJCAM. This may occur annually at this date. It seems you have to be allowed to upload a picture to Wikipedia so until that happens you'll have to take my word for it. I hope to add a comment on electricity with this fish or a cousin....
