Aurophilic attraction or somesuch rather than aurophilicity?

[edit]

The name is a bit odd! Aurophilic is usually the name used in my read of literature. Also as this is just a particular case of metallophilic attraction other examples are cuprophilic, argentophilic mercurophilic etc. shouldn't this just be a section. I know, I can hear you say it- yes I should write it but real life restricts major wiki projects.Axiosaurus (talk) 13:24, 20 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've actually thought about it myself some time ago. Yes, it should be made into a section of an all encompassing Metallophilic bonding. Plasmic Physics (talk) 23:02, 20 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I wrote a metallophilic interaction stub (terminology based on doi:10.1016/j.cplett.2008.07.096 as lead ref) (with redirect from your proposed name). I'm not sure the Au–Au case is specifically notable enough for its own article. We have several gold-nanoparticle articles where any applications could be discussed with links to the general interactions article. DMacks (talk) 08:53, 9 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
