Too many photographs?[edit]

They're all pretty similar and not adding a great deal. How about someone replacing one of them with an interior shot or an ad? Decampos (talk) 14:43, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

1984?[edit]

"More performance was offered in 1984 from a turbocharged Montego, badged as an MG" - Surely 1985 (Apr) ?

Germany: A Montego to go, please...[edit]

During the mid-80s, the supermarket chain Massa AG (German) offered a number of Austin and Rover models, among them the Montego. Though being priced considerably below the main competitors of VW, Ford and Opel, sales were very low due to the small dealer network of BL in Germany and the already damaged reputation of British cars.

Need better references to remove a Clarification request[edit]

In the Later Developments section there is a clarification required note and the text is plain wrong:

Though the car failed to match its rivals, such as the Volkswagen Passat, the car sold well[clarification needed] to the likes of the Ford Sierra and Vauxhall Cavalier.

I came up with the following because the car obviously sold in much lower volumes than its rivals by a huge margin, going by the total numbers in Wiki articles (e.g. VW Passat almost 10 times as many), but the references to SMMT data are via a blog site, which is not recommended by Wikipedia. Does anyone have better references to sales or manufacturing data, year on year?

The car never came close to the sales of its rivals, such as the Volkswagen Passat, Ford Sierra and Vauxhall Cavalier, but it sold well enough for production to continue into the 1990s.[1][2]
