Translation

[edit]

Should I insert a translation of the Provençal, copied from one of the cited sources? Anything to keep irresponsible Taggers at bay.--Wetman (talk) 19:26, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Done. I have also added some more to Baphomet. Srnec (talk) 00:27, 8 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
While "sirvente" is an acceptable anglicisation, sirventes (with the accent on the final syllable) is the original Occitan singular term, meaning "servant-like". I assume the suffix is related either to Spanish -ez (as in estupidez, the quality of being estúpido), but the Catalan form -esch suggests it is like French and English -esque or Spanish -esco, but I've never looked into it.
