Engineers Garage no suitable source[edit]

I highly doubt that the one who wrote the article at engineers garage, which was used as a source for this article, has any clue on what he wrote. It sais in the article that this is a driverless system but it also describes how electric rear view mirrors and a collision warning system assist the driver. It sounds to me like someone just copied informations he doesn't understand without mentioning the source. Regardless of the quality of the source, where does it say that there will be fewer maintenance costs? If no one can show me that I will delete this information. I wouldn't worry too much about the driver vs driverless point - I've seen many references to "Google's driverless cars" even though they all have drivers at the moment. But I think all the information is in other sources anyway, so maybe a time to WP:BEBOLD. Matt's talk 01:38, 16 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Vehicle is part of our busy life but if we are in office or in house then we need to park vehicle outside or in parking lot. There is prone to theft or hit by other vehicle. The situation of vehicle can’t be track without visiting parking place. That’s the beginning of an unfortunately typical article from this source. Does that drip with authority? Guided bus or Rubber-tyred tram or both?[edit]

There are references to the ART in both the Guided bus and Rubber-tyred tram pages. I think the page correctly alludes to the difficultly in categorising this system but this may cause duplication and contradictions. Perhaps these pages will eventually need to be merged as there is a continuum of types.

As there are only three in operation (with one or two due to begin construction in 2021) it is still a novelty. However there are a number of serious proposals. I have added a list of proposed ART systems to the Rubber-tyred tram page. Tjej (talk) 01:46, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Just to note that Peter Newman et al say "This paper will examine such a technology, which has been called Autonomous-Rail Rapid Transit (ART) or what we are labelling a Trackless Tram System (TTS)" and conclude "These factors all suggest that a Trackless Tram System (TTS) is likely to replace Light Rail and Bus Rapid Transit systems due to its ability to mimic all the best qualities of these systems while harnessing technology from High Speed Rail."^[1]

This indicates ART/TTS forms a distinct new category. The logic of this is to consider eventually renaming this page as "Trackless tram systems" Tjej (talk) 04:26, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I support this suggestion. An additional reason is that there is yet another version of the trackless tram called DRT (Digital Rail Rapid Transit) also manufactured by CRRC and apparently the main difference is the system the vehicle relies on for steering, that is, ART relies on lines painted on the road surface while DRT relies on magnets installed on the road. Advert template[edit]

I have recently added the advert template to this page, I would like to explain my reasoning:

Item uses the train infobox, despite not being a train according to rail transport
The bus part seems to be glanced over
The article does not outline existing operations well, nor does it reference articles that do
disadvantages of the technology are poorly outlined
unconventional formatting
overall feel of a press release
