The AGTR and AGER[edit]

Source needed - this seems to be a key naval term[edit]

Dear wikipedians: this seems to be an important naval term, but is totally unsourced. I noticed that there is a "Category:Auxiliary ships" and another very similar "Category:Service vessels". I tried to find online a definition to ascertain which one is correct, the other can be merged into it, but the only "encyclopedic definition" I found was this one in Wikipedia. Can anyone please help resolving this by providing a verifiable source for this definition? Thanks & regards, DPdH (talk) 02:06, 14 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Multiple issues[edit]

The grammar/wording in this article;

This allow the fleet..., random capitalisation Rescue and salvage ship and Submarine rescue ship (ASR) for surface support ship for ship and submarine rescue. Hospital ships are able to provide medical care in remote locations to personnel.

The lack of citations;

The entire "Support" section. The first paragraph of harbor.

Worldwide view

eg. Transport ships are often converted merchant ships simply commissioned (APA, APD, APH, APV) into naval service. - Those are entirely American designations.

None of these issues have been fixed so the tags remain. A general excise of the American designations would also be worthwhile and a link to Hull classification symbol would be more appropriate to cut down on the laser focus of this article on US naval designations.Llammakey (talk) 15:32, 11 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
