Dating[edit]

They have have lived in the area around Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Hunter Valley for many thousands of years.

How can we know this? Certainly Aboriginal people have lived in Australia for a very long time, but tribal boundaries weren't necessarily stable—someone lived there, but they may not have been Awabakal. --Ptcamn 08:09, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
