Missing decorations[edit]

Wow! This is amazingly bereft of any truly useful information and is missing TONS of medals. I'll add more when I get a chance, but off the top of my head, DFC, CMH, Silver/Bronze star, etc are all missing. BQZip01 04:35, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please remember that the Distinguished Flying Cross and like are considered to be inter-service decorations are are not unique to the USAF. As such, they should not appear on the list of awards and decorations that are unique to the USAF.--Darkstar949 15:35, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why does this page not reference Air Force Instruction 36-2803, the guiding document for the nomination and award of medals to USAF personnel? As for whether medals are missing or not, there are medals specifically listed and explained in AFI36-2803 which are not listed. Since that AFI IS the USAF medal program, I think any external impression that they should be excluded as interservice medals is mis-guided at best. When the USAF defines how to award a medal independently of the other services, I'm not sure how inter-service the definition really is. The list of medals that the AFI provides guidance for are as follows: Medal of Honor, Air Force Cross, Distinguished Service Medal, Silver Star, Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross, Airman's Medal, Bronze Star medal, Purple heart, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Aerial Acheivement Medal, Air Force Commendation medal, and Air Force Achievement Medal.--Unregistered USAF SNCO user
