Editions[edit]

I have given up to date sources and I am very well intertwined with knowledge concerning my hometown yet every time I make correct editions its reversed.

Defining Aw[edit]

User:MustafaO. Some clarification here, Aw is not part of the name for this individual which this town is supposedly named after, its a title for the saint. If an article is created for the saint of this town, the term Aw shouldnt be included. For example Abadir is also known as Aw Abadir but we wouldnt name the article Aw Abadir itself. I know the term Aw is used so frequently with the saints names that people begin to assume that Aw is part of their name. Magherbin (talk) 22:06, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your clarification. My main contention with your edit is that you redirected the link in part of the name where the link to the Aw should have been seperate in of in itself.
I also have a contention with redirecting the title of the the title of the article of this page. Although there are sources that do exist that contain the spelling "Aw Bare" or "Aw Barre". The vast majority of online academic sources spell the district as "Awbare".
Here are some of those sources:
1. Traditional Small Ruminant Production and Management Practices in Awbare District of Ethiopian Somali Regional State (2015). Link here: [[1]]
2. Male Involvement in Pregnancy and Childbirth: A Qualitative Study in Rural Population in Awbare District of Somali Region of Ethiopia (2021). Link here: [[2]]
3. Factors affecting the adoption of improved sorghum varieties in Awbare district of Somali regional state, Ethiopia (2012). Link here: [[3]].
4. Characteristics of Traditional Small Ruminant Production and Management in Awbare District of Ethiopian Somali Regional State (2015) Link here: [[4]]
5. Determinants of Agro-pastoral Households' Livelihood Diversification Strategies in Awbare District, Fafan Zone of Somali State, Ethiopia (2021). Link here: [[5]]
6. Factors that affect the effectiveness of Alternitive Basic Education performance in awbare District of Ethiopian Somali Regional State: The Case of Lafaissa cluster Resource Center (2017). Link here: [[6]]
7. THE UNIVERSAL PRIMARY EDUCATION POLICY IN AWBARE DISTRICT: PRACTICES AND CHALLENGES (2020). Link here: [[7]]
8. FOOD INSECURITY AND COPPING STRATEGIES OF AGRO PASTORAL HOUSEHOLDS IN AWBAR WOREDA, ETHIOPIAN SOMALI REGIONAL STATE (2016). Link here: [[8]]
9. Determinants of adoption of improved sorghum package in agro-pastoral households of Somali Region of Ethiopia: A gender perspective (2019). Link here: [[9]]
There are even more sources with this spelling without the separation including the National Election Board of Ethiopia which is the official board of the Ethiopian government. Link here [[10]]
So although there is no doubt that there are different variations of spelling. The actual town and district have appropriated a more common spelling which is reflective not only of the the title (Aw) but the most common spelling.
I will revert the spelling back to the old spelling as any dispute in Wikipedia should revert to it's original status until there is clear concensus. If you wish for 3rd party involvement then we can organize that.

Why are you reverting to subcategory? The article now exists hence revert the prefix line to the redirect I recently created which is Aw. It seems you want to claim the term Aw is part of the saints name but contradict yourself by redirecting the prefix to the Somali aristocratic subcategory. Last I checked district is different from town, the sources you listed all state district. Magherbin (talk) 22:41, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
User: Magherbin There was a slight accident unfortunately. Regarding the article it is about the town and the district and not about the the Saint himself. There is nothing wrong with mentioning the origin of the title, bu the primary article is about the town and district and therefore the most common spelling takes precedence. Coudl you please revert the page to the old title and add your link of 'Aw' in place of the current link to 'Aw' that exists already in the title. I think that way we are both happy.MustafaO (talk) 22:49, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
woreda means district in Ethiopia, the sources indicate Awbare (woreda) not the town. The district awbare has its own article, why would the article be mixing the town and district? Magherbin (talk) 23:00, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
User: Magherbin There are also plenty of sources that spell 'Awbare' which refers to the town

1. Measuring physical and sexual violence against somali women using the neighborhood method (2013). Link here: [[11]]

2. Food Poverty Analysis and Coping Mechanism of Internally Displaced Persons in Awbare Town of Somali Region, Eastern Ethiopia (2021). Link here: [[12]]

3. United Nations source: Volunteer women march to build public trust on COVID-19 vaccines Awbare, Somali Region: [[13]]

4. Regional health bureaus in Ethiopia are improving MIYCN services with support from an Alive & Thrive small grants program (2022). Link here: [[14]]

There are much much more but for time restrictions this would suffice. Please revert it to the old title and add your link in place of the current link to 'Aw' and I think we're done.MustafaO (talk) 23:02, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Why dont you do it? Magherbin (talk) 23:03, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
User: Magherbin I'm having a little bit of trouble. I'm not quite as professional on Wiki. I will extend my courtesy back to you. I'm not as familiar with how to revert the main title back. I'll add your link. If you look at the 5th paragraph, add your link to 'Aw', it's right there. I tried to move the article but it's saying that there is another page with the same title. Thank you.MustafaO (talk) 23:09, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It doesnt work right now, you will probably have to wait few days. Magherbin (talk) 23:15, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ok that's fine, thank you. Best regardsMustafaO (talk) 23:19, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
