According to Philip Briggs, Guide to Ethiopia, 5th edition (2009), "a new, modern airport recently opened 5km out of town along the Adwa road." Does anyone know when the airport was moved, & if the geographical coordinates refer to the location of the old airport or the new one? -- llywrch (talk) 20:38, 10 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The coords are those of the new airport. I don't know when it opened, but I see that Obelisk of Axum says (without source) that the runway at the airport was "upgraded" to facilitate the return of the obelisk in 2005 - I wonder if that was when the new airport was opened. --Mhockey (talk) 22:30, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
