Misspelled Ayeka's middle name[edit]

Her name should be spelled, 'Ayeka Misaki Jurai'. Elwin Blaine Coldiron 05:22, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed spelling is at odds with the quoted Japanese, which is 'Masaki', according to WWWJDIC. Quoted Japanese seems to be widely used on Japanese websites, so it seems likely correct. Paul Coddington (talk) 16:28, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Briefly, during "Tenchi Universe" in the English dub, her first name appears as Aeka. This is on the television screen during a news program while the characters are in space. It may be hard to notice at first, due to the way it is stylized. 64.138.215.134 (talk) 06:09, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Errata[edit]

"The romanization of her name in the Pioneer/Geneon English subtitles is "Ayeka" instead of "Aeka" to clarify its pronunciation for Western viewers (ah-eh-ka)."

This sentence seems self-contradictory, in that the quoted pronunciation does not match the alternative spelling that is intended to convey it. Either the creators of the alternate spelling were in error, or the quoted pronunciation is. Perhaps a relevant question in resolving this is, is the Japanese pronunciation the same as the English dub pronunciation? This may explain the conflict.
