Rumours[edit]

This article seems to consist mostly of rumour and hearsay :-( Andy Mabbett 12:16, 18 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. There is the note about Roy Wood, but that is quite interesting in itself. It's clear her wheareabouts since the 1980s are unknown and the author summarises the rumours. Other that that it seems to be a standard round-up of her career in the 60s and 70s.

Discotheque[edit]

Ayshea was also a presenter on the children's TV pop program called Discotheque which was the show that eventually turned into Lift Off. I think her debut show was the program being broadcast when the Emley Moor TV mast collapsed on 19th March 1969. The same show also featured the then largely unknown Elton John. Sources?[edit]

What are the sources for her birthplace/ date, and birth name? There's no evident birth record for an Ayshea Hague matching the details here; there's the marriage record of an Ayshea T. Hague and Christopher Brough, however. Even if it were a case of being born T___ Ayshea Hague, and her preferring her middle name, there's no likely matching birth record. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.109.194.135 (talk) 01:17, 10 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. I can see no evidence for a birth registration that could be her based on known names, including whatever the T middle name is, which also appears in the registration for her 1974 marriage to Alder. On that subject, we have the following marriages:
* Christopher D BROUGH - September quarter 1969, Westminster; div. August 1974 (as per interview Liverpool Daily Post, 23/11/1974)
* Stephen J ALDER - 13/11/1974, Paddington; div. 05/02/1979 (as per report in Wolverhampton Express and Star, same date)
* Michael LEVY - 20/11/1983?
A Daily Mirror report of 26/01/1979 refers to her impending divorce from Alder, but states that she was by then engaged to, "theatrical agent Raymond Millar." The Daily Mirror of 21/08/1983 states that she was due to marry "producer Michael Levy" on 20 November that year. Unfortunately there seems to be serious issues here in linking this to Sportsline founder Mike Levy. In 2016 the Daily Express reported on the non-retention of the Lift Off recordings, interviewing Ayshea in the process. It states:
Ayshea is back after 19 years in Los Angeles where she lived with her third husband, a Hollywood agent and studio president... she settled in LA after being invited over by the actress Susan George. "She was a great friend and I originally only went for two weeks," says Ayshea. "She threw a party the day I arrived and I met my third husband that night. Eight weeks later he had proposed to me. Michael Levy was the president of CBS and I became a Hollywood wife..."
The article further states: "The marriage lasted four years but they had no children." That suggests a marriage lasting from 1983 to around 1987, although IMDB states it was 1985 to 1990. The "problem" here is that Mike Levy stated in this article: "I’ve been happily married to my wife, Jodi for 37 years." The piece is un-dated, but post-2005, and the only archived copy on the Wayback Machine is from June 2019. That means they would have been married since around 1982 at the latest. Furthermore, Levy's involvement with CBS only seems to have started with their purchase of Sportsline in 2004.
It seems that Ayshea was actually married to the Michael Levy who was appointed president and CEO of CBS Films in March 1981, as per this newspaper report. This is presumably the same Michael Levy who was a producer on Demolition Man, in which Ayshea supposedly has a cameo. I am therefore deleting the erroneous link to Mike Levy. Another issue is her return to the UK. The page currently states 2000, but the 2010 Lush Life interview says she was still living in Los Angeles "about seven years ago" when her mother said she was finding flying over to see her difficult, which would imply around 2003. If we take the Daily Express account that she had lived in LA for 19 years, and was there in 1983, that would mean she returned around 2002. That said, she also states she was "fairly recently divorced," even though the latest date for her divorce from Levy is 1990, i.e. 13 years previously!
