Gabala Radar Station[edit]

Why would "President Vladimir Putin make a proposal to use the Gabala Radar Station as a part of the U.S.-developed missile defense system"? Isn't the main purpose of the Gabala Radar Station to defend against US and NATO military expansion and the perceived threats they pose? Am I missing something or is this a typographical error? The article could at least address this with a simple one or two-sentence explanation. 66.91.36.8 (talk) 15:02, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I added content from the "Gabala Radio Station" Wikipedia article that I hope explains the situation, but if anyone is more knowledgeable on the situation, please expand it further. I'm still not positive I have the motives precisely nailed down. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.91.36.8 (talk) 16:04, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
