Rankings

[edit]

Is there a rule in Wikipedia that university rankings made by private organisations cannot be used? I hardly doubt it. User:Muhandes please discuss your point here. I am replacing the content for time being. 137.97.92.200 (talk) 17:53, 17 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No, there is no such "rule" and in fact most rankings are by private organizations such as newspaper and it is perfectly fine to use rankings which the community accepts as notable and reliable. I object to the rankings you added because of boosterism. By quoting rankings which are not used in any other article on an India university you are giving them undue weight and are presenting a non-neutral view. If you wish to discuss including these rankings in articles about universities in India, please discuss it in WT:INEI. --Muhandes (talk) 19:13, 17 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
