Authority[edit]

The information available on-line is inconsistent as to the authority of the scientific name. Goldblatt and Manning (2007) assign the naming to Brehm ex Klatt (1882). All websites that I could find however assign authority to Brehmer ex Klatt or W.Brehmer ex Klatt. According to de:Wilhelm von Brehmer, Wilhelm Georg Baptist Alexander von Brehmer (1883-1959) was a German pharmacist who was also active as a botanist before the First World War. His author abbreviation is Brehmer. It seems very unlikely Wilhelm von Brehmer played a role in the naming of a plant species the year before he was born. Therefore I assume Goldblatt and Manning have not made a mistake and the origin of the name lies with Joachim Brehm. Dwergenpaartje (talk) 15:56, 25 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
