Two towns?[edit]

There appear to be two towns with very similar names in the Mudug region of Somalia. On Google Maps they are called Bacaadweyn (in Gaalkacyo District, at 7°11′30″N 47°31′33″E / 7.19167°N 47.52583°E / 7.19167; 47.52583) and Bacadweyne (in Hooyo District, at 5°19′21″N 47°54′43″E / 5.32250°N 47.91194°E / 5.32250; 47.91194). Since this article places its subject in "north-central Mudug region", which corresponds more closely to the former (the latter is in the southern part of the region), I've reverted the recent changes in the article, which appear to have been intended to change it to be about the latter. But we may need to have two articles, one at Bacaadweyn (which currently redirects to this article) and one at this title. I don't know enough about the relevant geography or the Somali language to be sure, so I will also post a message at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Somalia. Not to further confuse the issue, but the English name of this place (or places) is something closer to "Ba'ad Weyn" (the "c" in Somali language is different from that in English). However, it doesn't turn up as such in Google maps. On the other hand, searching Google maps for "Bacadweyn" returns "Bacadweyne" at the second set of coordinates that you gave. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 16:09, 30 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
