Reason for Edit[edit]

I did some editing of the introduction. The reason is pyrogenic exotoxin type A is a synonym of erythrogenic toxin A and is not some different toxin. Please check in case I made a mistake. No problem! I also wanted to add that I've been naming all my references, so before anyone else adds information, please check to make sure that the reference isn't already listed. Dec 11th, 2012[edit]

Proofread and edited entire article for grammatical/syntax errors, and some other areas where readers could have had issues with comprehending the information. Simplified some of the language and explained some terms briefly. Moved information around, resulting in the removal of the General Characteristics section. Final-week mini-review[edit]

Hi, guys. Here's a last-minute mini-review of your page. It is just a few random notes, that I jotted down while skimming the page, and is not intended as a comprehensive review.

In many places (not all) the language is too technical and difficult to follow. If you could try to expand some section by gently introducing technical terms before you use them, I think that would be good.
In the intro, talk about what this thing does first (turns a harmless bacteria into a virulent one) and then introduce the difficult technical terms).
Identify what speA is: Streptococcal Pyrogenic Exotoxin. You have this spelled out under "Genome" but it needs to be introduced earlier. Then, under "Genome", just use the abbreviation.
Some more figures would be nice.
Second paragraph of "General Characteristics" is too difficult to understand. Pretend you don't know anything about bacteriophages. Also, you could make more of the text into intra-wiki links, e.g. tRNA.
Research and discovery: what is lysogeny? I know you link to lysogenic cycle above, but a one- or two-sentence intro of this concept, either there or in this section, would be nice.
Genome: what does "terminally redundant" and "circularly permuted" mean?
Change "Disease" to "Diseases" (you list two, right?)
Scarlet fever: Don't make the section title a hyperlink.
It's a bit short -- is there more material you could add?

Thanks for that, Klortho! I always do this when I write, I assume that the person reading already knows what's in my head too! I'll try and make the article easier to read and add some more basic info about speA and lysogenic cycle, etc. that you mentioned. As far as adding material - there is still a section on the Genome coming, which Shivani is working on, and there will be one more figure - I'm going to put up a small figure that shows the arrangement of genes on the T12 genome, and I'm going to work on looking through all our resources again for a map of the genome itself if that is possible. I thought we had it in the papers but it was a restriction site map. I am still going through our papers to see what else we could add but this is as much as I have found on the bacteriophage T12 itself. Rashaalam (talk) 21:15, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
