[edit]

there is a vague section, written in the style of a newspapaer (wildly sensational), with poor punctuation. I will simply delete it (although new to wikipedia editing, I beleive that anti-vandalism safeguards should enable you to undo this should you deem it prudent)

Secret successor

[edit]

It says Mayawati has put the name of her secret successor in envelopes to be opened in the event of her "birth". I imagine that's meant to be the her "death". I'd happy to change it but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something since I don't have the greatest amount of context. superman (talk) 22:26, 8 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Influential figures photos

[edit]

The huge box containing photos of "influential figures" near the top of the article is going to have to either be removed or significantly modified. Together with ridiculously lengthy captions, it pushes the section text over to a very small area of the page and will be a nightmare to view on a mobile device. I'm am going to remove it and copy the markup here in a moment, where people can decide what to do with it. A review of WP:MOSIMAGE before commenting might be useful. - Sitush (talk) 20:19, 5 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Influential figures
Jyotirao Phule, an Indian activist, thinker, social reformer from Maharashtra. He fought for the eradication of untouchability and the caste system, women's emancipation and the reform of Hindu family life. He also formed the Satyashodhak Samaj (Society of Seekers of Truth) to attain equal rights for peasants and people from lower castes.
B. R. Ambedkar, chief architect of Indian Constitution and first law minister of India who campaigned against untouchability, caste system and also campaigned for the rights of women and labourers.
Narayana Guru (ca. 1854 – 20 September 1928), was a social reformer of India. He was born into a family of the Ezhava caste in an era when people from such communities, which were regarded as Avarna, faced much injustice in the caste-ridden society of Kerala. He led a reform movement in Kerala, rejected casteism, and promoted new values of spiritual freedom and social equality.
Periyar E. V. Ramasamy, an Indian social activist, freedom fighter and politician who started the Self-Respect Movement. He is known as the 'Father of modern Tamilnadu'. He has done exemplary works against Brahminical dominance, caste prevalence and women oppression in Tamilnadu.
Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj was of Indian princely state of Kolhapur. He worked tirelessly for the cause of the lower caste subjects in his state. Primary education to all regardless of caste and creed was one of his most significant priorities.

NPOV

[edit]

The section on non-casteism is unlikely to comply with [[WP:NPOV]. I have added a source for Mayawati’s claim and also removed some general claims as to the presence of caste Hindus, but a more balanced approach is probably needed. I have therefore added the NPOV template—this is not to say that mention of the number of caste Hindus in the BSP is contrary to that policy, but rather to suggest that the addition of further information is necessary, since at the moment only information the most obvious interpretation of which is that there is no casteism is included, but allegations are not.

Why does not together for alliance with INDIA. Now in this situation BSP followers decline. In that preview mostly chance whitewash with BSP. So Mayavati bahan immediately should take appropriate decession to save BSP and Dr. B.R Ambedkar thoughts. Crore public support if you alliance with INDIA. Party supporter. 2409:4042:811:42E4:1686:690D:2A6A:6D22 (talk) 16:52, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
