Object to Merger[edit]

I object to the merger of this article. Although it certainly could be improved, it is a notable subject matter and reasonably well-sourced. There was absolutely no proposal or discussion of the merger. Fladrif (talk) 21:13, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WP:Weight provides no support for this deletion whatsoever. It is irrelevant to the question of this redirect. WP:FICT#Articles_that_don't_meet_the_inclusion_criteria would indicate that the deletion and redirection of this article is entirely improper.Fladrif (talk) 23:27, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Articles need more than two sentences of real world information in order to actually be considered notable. See Homer Simpson, Michael Tritter, Clark Kent (Smallville), and Adrian Monk for examples. Unless you believe that you can improve it to the point where it can match at least the two GAs, this doesn't need to be separated from the main article. Personal Life section[edit]

Surnames as given names[edit]

Can whoever keeps inserting trivia about Ryan O'Neal and Peyton Place into the article please stop? It's irrelevant on two grounds: 1) "The Last Word on First Names" says the Bailey character is actually "one of the first female examples to appear on the media" of a surname being used as a female first name. Surnames being used as male first names, on the other hand, has been common for centuries. 2) Ryan O'Neal is not the name of a character on Peyton Place but the name of an actor so even if the book in question didn't specify female first names, the Peyton Place reference would still be irrelevant. What is your request? The article already says "Bailey Quarters was one of the first media examples of the popular naming convention of use of a surname as a female first name" - so the information you are presenting doesn't say anything new or different?
