  • I suggest a shorter version of ALT1:
    • ALT1a: ... that Ekuikui V was deposed as king of Bailundo and sentenced to six years in prison?
Just get people interested enough to click on the link and then they can read the rest -- RoySmith (talk) 03:43, 10 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • New enough from time of nomination, long enough, well-cited and no close paraphrasing detected. No QPQ necessary as user's first nomination. Approve ALT1 as the most interesting; the hook fact is directly cited. However, the source uses the term crime de homicídio preterintencional [pre-intentional homicide], while the article uses the term "intentional voluntary manslaughter". Would appreciate this being cleared up before approval @Madbrad200:, as I don't think the citizen's trial and execution brought up in the source constitutes a "heat of passion" killing. Hello! Thank you for pointing that out @DigitalIceAge:, you are right - I've changed it to the more direct translation, although perhaps "premeditated" might be clearer? Madbrad200 (talk) 18:24, 12 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for making the change – I'll leave it up to you if it should be changed to premeditated. IMO better to err on the side of caution and use the literal translation as it pertains to a BLP. DigitalIceAge (talk) 21:21, 12 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Madbrad200 and DigitalIceAge: looks like the final paragraph of "Succession" is unsourced – also, where can I find the hook fact in the article? theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/her) 22:31, 14 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! @Theleekycauldron:, I've added a source there. I most likely forgot to re-add it before (I moved that section around a few times while writing the article). The information for the provided hooks can be found in the Post-Angolan independence section, particularly the last 3 paragraphs. Thank you! Madbrad200 (talk) 23:37, 14 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome, thanks! @DigitalIceAge: sorry, didn't see before – would you object if I promoted ALT1a instead (with an added date)? theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/her) 07:37, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Changes look good to me. @Theleekycauldron:—I'm fine with ALT1a+date. DigitalIceAge (talk) 07:40, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
