Like INTEQ's current Autotrak system, most of the Schlumberger PowerDrive RSS fleet also utilize the "push the bit" method. Schlumberger, however, also offers the PowerDrive Exceed system which does indeed "point the bit" in turn offering much greater DLS capacity among other benefits. The AutoTrak RSS cannot be classified as purely 'point the bit' or 'push the bit' but is rather a hybrid of the two methods on account of its design build. However regardless of which systems the RSS tools use, they provide much less well bore tortusity then conventional motors only if there is a continous downlinking (communication to the tool downhole from the surface)system to respond to natural formation tendencies. INTEQ's AutoTrak and the GeoPilot from Halliburton are proven to do this by employing an innovative method unlike 'trial & error' methods of their competitors. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.159.125.163 (talk) 23:17, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
