June 2015 forthcoming revisions

[edit]

I've already made a few minor updates to the Notable artists section in advance of upcoming revisions. A lot of new source material means some names/information may be dropped from the article during the course of preliminary consolidation toward new additions. There was a lot of polite padding in the article as it is.

To anyone interested and able: Shane McAdams is an artist worthy of a wikipedia page. A search of his name shows ample proof. I leave his name red-linked for now toward a future article and I will gladly make that page in the near future as time permits unless someone else is interested to do so. More notes to come. Notable artists

[edit]

Another notable artist is Jan Fabre, who has worked extensively with blue bic pallboint pens. Mduvekot (talk) 14:48, 7 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your input. I'd personally known about Fabre but was unable to find valid sources (most if not all of which were written in Belgian) mentioning anything more than the fact that he has also used ballpoint pens among multiple mediums (the same of which could be said for most artists since the mid 20th century). Such sources would only be usable to say the same, one sentence along the lines of "The Belgian artist Jan Fabre used ballpoint pens as part of his performances/installations..." but then where to insert the sentence? The "Notable ballpoint pen artists" section lists those who are known solely for their ballpoint usage, with brief mention in that section's introductory paragraph noting some "name" artists who have utilized the pens at some point. If anything, a similarly brief sentence can be added in that introduction, although at the tail end of the main list of artists is probably more appropriate. Otherwise into the "Other incarnations" or "Notable exhibitions" sections? In any case: find a couple of sources that validate what you feel is worth mentioning and feel free to add it. I myself don't currently have that time to spend but if your sources are valid I'll gladly clean up your contribution if it needs it. Penwatchdog (talk) 05:41, 26 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
