Origin of the surname Banach[edit]

I am not sure about the correctness of the origin of this surname. However, it might lead to the conclusion that the famous Polish mathematician Stefan Banach was of Jewish origin. Stefan_Banach page says he came from a Góral Roman Catholic family. It would be very unusual to find any Jewish people among the Polish Górale.

According to Banach (disambiguation), Banach is a Polish-language surname. It might be just a coincidence. Tsf (talk) 19:24, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
