Bamco nickname[edit]

Lately, I've been seeing people refer to Bandai Namco games as "Bamco". Should we make a note of this nickname in the article? FstrthnU (talk) 20:17, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a source?Asher196 (talk) 13:24, 5 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Name[edit]

Alright, what's the deal here? The Japanese name uses "Bandai Namco", the logo reads "Bandai Namco", the web address is bandainamcogames.co.jp but the article continuously uses "Namco Bandai"? What gives? 75.154.122.169 (talk) 10:58, 31 August 2012 (UTC)z;:[reply]

If you look at their site http://www.bandainamcogames.co.jp/english/history/index.php you will find this "March 31, 2006, NAMCO BANDAI Games Inc. established as main company in Game Contents Strategic Business Unit (SBU) in BANDAI NAMCO Group"--Asher196 (talk) 01:50, 1 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Romanized Japanese Name[edit]

The romanized Japanese name is technically incorrect. The romanized form of 株式会社バンダイナムコゲームス is Kabushiki gaisha Bandai Namuko Gēmusu, not Kabushiki gaisha Bandai Namuko Entāteinmento. Nate 2169 (talk) 17:59, 19 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

How so, do you have any evidence that the company uses the branding in the Japanese formatiing that you've stated? Iftekharahmed96 (talk) 18:48, 19 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Lower case for job titles[edit]

@Dissident93: Your use of upper case for job titles runs counter to MOS:JOBTITLES and WP:SPECIALSTYLE. The MoS says "They are capitalized only in the following cases: When followed by a person's name to form a title, ... When a title is used to refer to a specific and obvious person as a substitute for their name ... When a formal title for a specific entity (or conventional translation thereof) is addressed as a title or position in and of itself ..." The job titles in this article are not used in any of these three ways. It doesn't matter whether the company brings in a marching band when a person has one of these "official titles" bestowed on them, and it doesn't matter whether the company consistently capitalizes these titles (please read WP:SPECIALSTYLE). Wikipedia has its own style for capitalization. You'll never convince me that "member" and "board" are anything put common nouns. I will restore the correct use of lower case. • MOS:JOBTITLES states to only do this "when used generically", while WP:SPECIALSTYLE is an essay and not a true guideline. "President" of the company is not being used generically here. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 18:25, 22 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
