[edit]

Please keep this article. I'm sure someone who has more information can put some more to this article. I have only read Volumes 1 & 2 so I know very little.

Please understand my position. I've just started the basis of a good article.

Update

[edit]

Hi X27, I've worked on the article, you might like to take a look. It's all from the web so would appreciate it if you would check it over since you have read Vol 1 & 2. Julia Rossi (talk) 05:07, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reason for hang on tag

[edit]

Wow, that tag looks so heavy, thought it would just say "hang on" –– tagged because I found more to develop this article and feel that it's important as a contribution to the knowledge of Korean manhwa action comics in the style of Japanese manga and tells them apart. The article also expands the range of this genre besides also being published by a US comics company with an article on Wikipedia. It also gives an full example of a current and developing manwha providing a blue link in the list: List of manhwa. As the tag says, I submit to the outcome in any case. Thanks, Julia Rossi (talk) 05:15, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Looks really good Julia. You did a great job and I really really really really really appreciate it. I have only read vol 1 and 2 so its very hard for me. My internet craps out on me just when I need it, but I am trying my best. Please hang on to this article. It will broaden our minds to other forms of art other then Japanese. I think Korean art is becoming just as popular and I want everyone to know about these wonderful pieces of work. I will continue this article. And if it is deleted no matter I will redo it. Please hang on to this article. If there is more effort from other people then I am sure it will fit Wikipedia in no time. :)X27 (talk) 06:17, 21 May 2008 (UTC)X27[reply]

Some Thought

[edit]

Okay. So I got vol 3 and read it.The character that Banya was suppose to give the package to is finally introduced. The character only has one big scene of destroying people and being set free. Since I haven't read the other volumes 4 and 5, how would introduce this character? Certainly this character will have more to do with the other volumes or not.Would they be a minor character or would they not be a minor character? Or should I wait for the other volumes before adding that character in? So that way I can see their motives or something.X27 (talk) 19:23, 21 May 2008 (UTC)X27[reply]

I'd introduce it under minor characters by saying something like (character name) receiver of the package appears in Volume 3, during a scene of...(whatever) and escapes with the possibility of appearing further in the books.
Then, when and if they do, you can decide again then. It will keep the article alive in the meantime.
I think it's due for a Did You Know nomination, so you might like to think of a hook for DYK. Or let me know, and I'll nominate you and supply the hook, but any tips on a hook line would be appreciated. One suggestion while I'm here is, ...that Banya: The Ex.. Del... Boy is a Shōnen style Korean action comic hero that combines the genres of Mad Max, Dune and Lord of the Rings? or,
...that Banya: The Ex... Del... Boy is a successful Korean action comic in the Shōnen style recently published in the U.S.A.?Julia Rossi (talk) 23:08, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well I had thought that Banya: The Ex...Del...Boy is a mixture of Mad Max, Dune and Dune, Lord of the Rings, and Naruto. Just cause Banya reminds me a lot of Naruto. And that minor character named Mister reminded me of Sasuke. And the girl reminds me of Sakura. And the boy who follows Banya reminds me of Konahanmaru from Naruto as well.Really a did you know nomination? Are you sure? All right I'll introduce the character in the minor characters and bring them back just in case they bring them into the other volumes.X27 (talk) 00:26, 22 May 2008 (UTC)X27[reply]

Thanks for your response. If there's a reference for comparing it with Naruto, pop it into the text – anyway I'll include that in the DYK hook, so I'll look around unless you've got one -- will put the hook as is anyway and can change it later. We can try. I'l give you the link here when it's done. It's a good article and is going well. Y're welcome, Julia Rossi (talk) 00:35, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Coolio. Now volume 3 left us hanging and to be continued, with a certain group of bad guys. Now I think they will either one die in the next volume or stay alive for volume 5. Would they be minor characters as well? Also this might be a good hook...might how about: Banya: The Ex...Del...Boy the Korean Naruto. Cause the bad guys in volume 3 remind me of Naruto bad guys. One of the guys looks like an anbu ninja and one of other ones looks like Orochimaru. And the other bad guy reminds me of one of Orochimaru's goons with the seal that Orochimaru gave them. I don't think there is a reference to comparing Banya with Naruto. Its just what I see and I what can infer.X27 (talk) 00:42, 22 May 2008 (UTC)X27[reply]

Ah, without a ref it's called WP:OR (original research) but some other things might count against gaining Dyk, that's the age of the article, and whether it's been expanded enough, but hey, it's here to see what happens[1]. Fingrs crosst, Julia Rossi (talk) 00:59, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
PS made it a collab-nom. JR01:04, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Well more like originally noticed, :) Yes, fingers crossed. I think this would be an amazing article for everyone to see. The feeling of being able to share such an amazing story and piece of work would be spirit lifting. To show everyone the hard work that we put into this article, the love we put into this article. I hope that the age and all that are going to hinder this article.X27 (talk) 01:14, 22 May 2008 (UTC)X27[reply]

the Torren

[edit]

Suggestion: it needs a section describing the Torren? Julia Rossi (talk) 23:28, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. I'll do that as well. That is a good decision. Thank you so much Julia for all the help on Banya. I really appreciate it very much. This is so wonderful to watch my article expand and grow up like a child into an adult (okay weirdness over.):)X27 (talk) 00:28, 22 May 2008 (UTC)X27[reply]

Hi, thanks for your work about Jihan -- a question, are the "men" actual enemies or the Torren themselves? Julia Rossi (talk) 04:39, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure. I have a feeling they are generals or at least one of them is a general since they have an army of soldiers. They even had wagon cage filled with woman. I think they might be the Torren, but I am not sure. Since they don't mention anything about it.X27 (talk) 15:46, 22 May 2008 (UTC)X27[reply]

Okay I have it now. The bad guys that I mentioned are not from the Torren. The Torren is the army attacking the shrine where Jiahn had come from. That means that the Torren were all ready defeated. Which would mean these guys are just bad guys or they have something more important to do in the later volumes.X27 (talk) 19:46, 22 May 2008 (UTC)X27[reply]

Chapter names

[edit]

Please expand the volume list with english chapter names, because I haven't the american version, only the hungarian version. Thanks! --Horsee (talk) 09:12, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I did it! :) --Horsee (talk) 20:20, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image

[edit]

Reduced image and everything was line-free on the desktop but the uploading shows these distracting lines. Don't know what happened. Julia Rossi (talk) 07:04, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The lines are probably happening b/c the image is being shrunk down from original size to fit in the infobox (max width 250px). Out of curiosity, why are you using a screenshot of a cover? If you do that I think you have to give all the info about the software used to make the screenshot in addition to the fair use rationale and copyright tag. --hamu♥hamu (TALK) 07:09, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Julia, I went in and replaced the image with a shrunk-down, non-screenshot version of the same picture. Its small size/low resolution justifies fair use, so there shouldn't be any problems. I had to redo the fair use rationale and all that, but it reads basically just like yours did. Hope this is okay! Screenshots, in my experience, just behave really weirdly, LOL. Great work on the article, btw. :) --hamu♥hamu (TALK) 20:27, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
