"Glitter" description[edit]

What makes "Glitter and be Gay" a "mock-aria"? It's not an imitation aria, after all...is it called so here because it mocks some operetta conventions concerning something or other? This phrase is not helpful and I think I'll remove it if nobody objects. --Wspencer11 (talk to me...) 12:08, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Discography[edit]

The official SonyBMG Masterworks discography link for this artist is as follows

It (in most cases) contains a full listing of in-print CDs released on the SonyBMG labels within the US (for the moment), along with track listings and in some cases audio clips (which will become more robust in the new year). Ecommerce links are provided inobtrusively.

I have been informed that it creates a conflict of interest to post these links directly from my account, so please consider adding the page to the link section. Thanks. Softlord 23:09, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Alcoholism?[edit]

Wasn't she plagued by alcohol problems for a while, many years ago? Or am I dreaming? --Wspencer11 (talk to me...) 02:40, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment[edit]

I increased the assessment of this article to C-class, but it is approaching B-class. I suggest that some narrative description of Cooks most important recordings should be added as an intro to the discography to give more of an overview of her extensive recording career. Which ones were the best-sellers or got the most critical acclaim? I see that some note Grammy awards or nominations. Are any Grammy noms missing? All the best! -- Ssilvers (talk) 17:22, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Day of Death[edit]

She died on the morning of August 8, 2017 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.87.236.202 (talk) 18:14, 8 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. The New York Times obituary originally reported a different date, but it (and our article) have been corrected. - Nunh-huh 20:08, 8 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
