Article expansion

[edit]

Barbara Manning's career is long and (time will tell) most likely influential. I'm expanding and organizing her article and adding references. Disclosure: she and I hung out over the years in San Francisco, mostly in the 90s, but she's currently semi-retired from music, and I'm a semi-retired former music journalist, so I don't think there's a conflict of interest. She played and toured for more than two decades and has teamed up with many indie-rock icons (and is one herself, in my opinion). This page needs more information--I'll add it. --Utilizer (talk) 06:17, 1 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

References

[edit]

A note about references for this article: because much of Manning's musical output was in the 80s and early 90s, it's hard to find online reviews and interviews with her from that time. There are countless print reviews, articles and interviews in music magazines and fanzines of the time (now out of print, or not archived on the Internet), but online sources are not as readily available. There are some blog posts about her early albums due to her cult following and many are written by music journalists of that time, so I'll be using some of those blogs as sources. This isn't standard Wikipedia sourcing, I realize, but it's just really hard to find print copies from that time. And there's enough current online journalism from more typical Wikipedia sources to balance out the source material. Thanks in advance for your understanding. --Utilizer (talk) 02:03, 3 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
