[edit]

I have the feeling this article should be redirected to Sarah Scott, as it seems like the subject doesn't meet the WP:GNG due to WP:NOTINHERITED. - GretLomborg (talk) 04:28, 18 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Comment I'm torn as to whether the two should be merged or not. Without Montagu's largess, Scott would have been unlikely to continue her independence. On the other hand, without Scott's support, Montagu would not have been able to maintain hers. I have reworked the file and removed extraneous information and re-written the lede, which before certainly inferred that her only notable link was to Scott. Oppose based upon the improvements to the article, I think that there is sufficient notability and provides insight into alternative lifestyles that were relatively rare at that time.–CaroleHenson (talk) 00:54, 24 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I just commented on another vote that there should be more than just saying that there's notability. I think that there is sufficient notability due to her role as a philanthropist and her charitable works, as well as for participating in a community with an alternative lifestyle.–CaroleHenson (talk) 01:52, 24 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
This biography seems strong enough to me to stand in its own right. I note that the Electronic Enlightenment biographical dictionary has separate entries for Barbara Montagu and for Sarah Scott. MartinPoulter (talk) 11:33, 26 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
GretLomborg, Are you ok with the article since the recent improvements?–CaroleHenson (talk) 22:57, 26 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose Lady Barbara is an independent historical step and her notability has been proved.--Elisa.rolle (talk) 14:02, 28 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
