Deleting surname[edit]

@Fyunck(click): Hi, this is the standard approach for female tennis players: Karolína Hrdličková is notable as Karolína Plíšková, Markéta Šimková is notable as Markéta Vondroušová. So, deleting the surname after marriage makes no sense. Cheers, Kacir 18:56, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Two things. It is not standard. There is no mention of it in prose, we have no way of knowing if she will change her name, and she is not notable under her husbands name. There are plenty of players where we keep the notable name such as Helen Wills. Fyunck(click) (talk) 19:47, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Here you contradict yourself. You repeatedly edited Karolína Plíšková's article after changing her surname, without editing the introduction, firstly just a month after the change in August 2018 – and now you just changed the introduction. In the beginning of the Storm Sanders article, you promoted the unknown surname of tennis player Hunter, exactly in a style that is consistent with the articles Plišková, Vondroušová and Štefková, the change you reverted here. Perhaps the last case of such an approach of changing the surname after marriage is Margarita Betova, which is known and notable by the surname Gasparyan, not Betova, (cf.) meaning difference with the article of Sanders. Here we have a retired player whose entire notable career she was known as Barbora Stefkova. So it already takes a lot of sourcing to change that. She gets married according to you, she changes her name according to you. No sourcing. Oh wait we have sourcing for Barbora Stefkova from the WTA and Twitter. We don't just change everyone's lead to a supposed married name if the person is not going to adhere to it in their professional life. Fyunck(click) (talk) 06:25, 27 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
