district, tehsil, town, or what?
[edit]Hi, I see this new article is written using the term "block" which may not be the correct term in English. What kind of administrative district is meant? Is this one of the districts of India, or is it a tehsil (a tehsil or tahsil/tahasil (Hindi: तहसील, Punjabi: ਤਹਿਸੀਲ, Telugu: తహశీల్, Urdu: تحصیل), also known as taluk (or taluq/taluka (Sindhi: تعلقو)) or mandal) within a district, or is it a town? One reason why I question this is that it apparently includes 60 villages, so I wonder if it is a higher level entity than a town. --doncram 00:13, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
- Update: later I found my way to Community development block in India article and added more to the article. I still wonder, though, is Barharia called a block, a community development block, or a town? It can be more than one, and the article can address that. --doncram 02:34, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
news etc.
[edit]Following a suggestion at Peppy Paneer's userpage (thanks!), I found some news stories mentioning Barharia by searching at this English language India news site. I don't think the "dirty dancing" story is worth mentioning in an encyclopedia article, but it's interesting to see that it got very wide coverage in India! :( Surely there are some good news stories to mention? :) --doncram 02:34, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
- I tried searching on "Yamunagarh" and "Yamuna Garh" which appears prominent in Barharia as seen in Google Maps, but I haven't found much on it in Google search or in that India news search site. Is it the subject of this picture, from Facebook user "Barharia, Siwan" ? --doncram 02:45, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
