Here are the issues I found:

  • "Gilligan began his professional career playing right field in 1874 for the New York Flyaways" are the Flyaways a minor league team? an independent team? Since there's no article adding a bit of detail here would help.
Amateur team, added.
  • "He continued his professional baseball career in 1876 and 1877." since there's no teams listed, are we sure he continued or is it just presumption?
