I'm generally in favour of trying to show the co-heirs by share where possible (as they are most likely to succeed with any termination of the abeyance) but I'm having some problems. The title falls back (after the deaths without issue of more recent terminations) on the decendants of the 2nd Marquess of Hastings.

He had 3 daughters with living issue (1/3 share each) Edith Maud Rawdon-Hastings, Countess of Loudoun | Lady Victoria Maria Louisa Rawdon-Hastings & Lady Frances Augusta Constance Muir Rawdon-Hastings:

  • The first had a son then he had two daughters dividing their share into 1/6s. A whole 1/6th transferred to Viscount St Davids while the Countess's 1/6 was split between her 4 daughters giving them tiny shares each.
  • Lady Victoria's 1/3rd appears to stay whole and decend through Mary Evelyn Bertha Emily Kirwan to Count Paul Lubienski Bodenham b. 1965.
  • Lady Frances 1/3rd appears to stay whole and vest in (Lady) Anna Rhoda Marsham b. 7 Jun 1909 whose married status I'm not clear on. Failing her heirs it would fall on Sir Thomas Hare, 5th Bt and his daughters (of whom only one is certainly married and with a male heir.

Can anyone confirm that I have understood those correctly as if so we need to alter the article page (vide infra)

Coheirs

[edit]

I note that one of the coheirs has just been deleted with the comment Deceased. Should not her heirs be added, or is her heir already one of the coheirs? Peterkingiron (talk) 21:51, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It appears Lady Iona died without issue. Choess (talk) 03:40, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bertha

On the death of the 21st Baron, why did the title not pass to his eldest sister Edith?
