Contradiction[edit]

The article notes:

As of late-2005, 63 nations have ratified the Basel Ban Amendment; 62 are required for it to enter into force.

Which makes it appear as if it had already entered into force, but the ban's official page says:

The Amendment has not yet entered into force. Entry into force shall take place upon ratification by at least three-fourths of the Parties who accepted it.

3/4 of 166, rounded up, is 125. So 62 more are required for it to enter into force (however, I don't think that was what the wikipedian intended to say, because that 62 dates long before the 63). Also, I'm in doubt regarding the number of parties to the convention and to the ammendment. The convention's official page says 170. --Agent Fog 14:30, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The article is unclear about whether or not recycling of hazardous waste is exempt[edit]

The article gives the impression that waste disposal companies attempted to get around the hazardous waste provisions by claiming that some waste that was hazardous was claimed to be exempt because it was sent for recycling. Is this true? If so, the article is unclear and this point should be made more forceful in the justification for the the Ban on hazardous wastes.... Generally the article appears to be written in bad undergraduate english, and could undergo a severe rewrite into good English with a more direct tone. I would do this except that I am not an expert on the subject, only a well informed amateur with enough skill at reading undergraduate english to know when something is missing. Thanks in advance....
