Memphis immigrants from Bassignana

[edit]

Bassignana is a small village in the North West Italy (Piedmont). Many emmigrants to America (Memphis, Tennessee): At present many Surnames there from Bassignana: Vescovo, Robilio, Barzizza (Barzi), Bursi, Sampietro, Soro et al. My grandfather was from this area and immigrated to US in 1904 (?) and was a farmer in Memphis, TN. I have a booklet from an original Italian Farmer's brotherhood, containing names of some of the members. I believe Bursi family were neighbors or friends with my grandfather. I am interested to learn why and how these men chose to move to Memphis? What/who was their original connection? conimobley@talk) 18:21, 30 July 2022 (UTC) Coni Mobley - email is conimobley@gmail.com
