Side Note on the Pacific / Atlantic BatDivs[edit]

I think it is interesting that the Pacific Fleet battleships either retained their cage masts (the newer "Big Five" TN CA CO MA WV) or had been modernized (the older NV OK PA AZ) with tripod masts, whereas the combat division in the Atlantic fleet (NM MI ID) had been modernised with tower structures resembling the tower bridges of the Royal Navy Queen Elizabeth class. I believe this implies a lot about 1930s preparations for the gathering storm that became WWII. Naaman Brown (talk) 16:19, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
