Missing background[edit]

It is not clear in the article why the battle took place and how the units of the various armies came to confront each other there. It would also be useful for readers (especially those unfamiliar with the Narva campaign) to understand what the Soviet objective was. A brief description of terrain and how it impacted the battle would also be informative, especially if watercourses and ponds channelized attacks and counter-attacks. W. B. Missing conclusion and relevance[edit]

The article should note how the Auvere area actually fell; that is, did the Soviets eventually successfully storm it after the July battles or did the Axis forces withdraw at some point in the framework of larger military operations. As it is, the article just suddenly ends. Relevance should also be mentioned -- this battle was important why? (Probably because it prevented the Soviets from flanking the defense at Narva town ... but the article should bring this out better.) W. B. Wilson (talk) 04:43, 17 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notability[edit]

I'm not seeing much in google books link; the only mention that comes up is from a book of fiction. Is it known by a different name perhaps? Or was it just a minor skirmish? K.e.coffman (talk) 04:21, 20 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

There are a number of foreign language books that discuss "Auvere lahing" --Nug (talk) 19:23, 20 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
