Ongoing or 27 February to 5 March?[edit]

Shelling on the 6th[edit]

Fight still ongoing - Irpin/Bucha/Hostomel[edit]

There is no clear winner in this battle. Ukrainian forces push forward. Then Russians. Then Ukrainians again. This is also due to the territory. Bucha, Irpin and Hostomel are very close together (50km²) and there are not really physical boundaries between the cities. It all merges into one, so it's hard to tell if the fight is over or not. I would propose to merge "Battle of Bucha" and "Battle of Irpin" and add "Battle of Hostomel" (Not Battle of Antonov Airport which is clearly something else). Name it "Battle of Bucha, Irpin and Hostomel" or "Battle of Kyiv Northwest Suburbs" or "Battle of Southeast Bucha Raion". Counter-offensive has begun[edit]

A local news media in Irpin has stated that the counteroffensive has begun as of 30th March 2022. There are active fighting in Bucha and Hostomel. The fighting in the region resumed now even on the territory of the city of Bucha -> Date should be changed to Ongoing again. I agree. This is ridiculous. We have photographic evidence and detailed reports from reputable news sources of hundreds of civilians killed, many while bound on their knees. Timing of Bucha liberation / retaking: April 1 (in the evening)[edit]

Please have a look at the sources alrady cited in the article: Bucha was retaken by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on April 1 in the evening (the mayor's official statement was published at around 19:00 Ukraine time, GMT +3) and not on March 31 (this was the day the last Russian troops apparently left, but at that time the city had not yet been under control of Ukraine's armed forces). This information is crucial since, according to Russian state media, it took four days for war crimes evidence to appear. This, however, is clearly wrong: the two "infamous" clip of corpses lying on the roadside were, as far as I can see, were first published on Twitter on April 1, 20:38 and April 1, 21:56 Ukraine time (links: https://twitter.com/__mr_M_/status/1509948421666443269?s=20&t=VlmgsAJs8SlxqcyEz2_S2w and https://twitter.com/GigaUra/status/1509966906018701318?s=20&t=VlmgsAJs8SlxqcyEz2_S2w ).
