Revert of page move[edit]

I have moved "Battle of El Bodón" back to "Battle of El Bodon" as that is the spelling used in all the sources. The local modern spelling of the place is not the "correct" spelling for the battle. The battle should be placed under its name in military histories. Now it may be that in modern military histories (those published in the last 25 years) the spelling is different from the older free sources uesed in the artilce, but if so a move request should be made under WP:RM. -- PBS (talk) 18:50, 25 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding User:Technopat's move. While it is true that many sources for Napoleonic wars only have a basic 52-character font set ABC/abc, it is not the case that the best modern hardback sources are so limited. For example Peter Snow To war with Wellington: from the peninsula to Waterloo 2010 - Page 120 has "The allies had a narrow escape at El Bodón, four miles south of the fortress city, on 24 September." And even if sources beyond the simple ABC/abc font set did not exist, there seems to be little advantage in having a separate Napoleonic-MOS which limits itself to 52-characters as 7-bit ASCII once did. Usage in reliable sources. A simple Google Book search provides an interesting ratio. Searching on ["El Bondon" Wellington] (which will also pull in "El Bodón") returns about 4,800 volumes to about 250 for a search ["El Bonden" Wellington]. Restricting the search to about the last quarter of a century (from 1990) returns respectively about 70 (excluding novels) and 3. Battle of Zujar → Battle of Zújar

– WP:AT consistency with Zújar and El Bodón and the rest of Category:Battles of the Peninsular War. Many military history books only use 52 character ABCabc set but (WP definition of reliable) sources with a full character set spell these place names in English the same as Spanish, If there are too few reliable English-language sources to constitute an established usage, follow the conventions of the language appropriate to the subject: (German for German politicians, Portuguese for Brazilian towns, and so on).: Peter Snow To war with Wellington: from the peninsula to Waterloo 2010 - Page 120 "The allies had a narrow escape at El Bodón, four miles south of the fortress city, on 24 September."
