Trivia about Gualadajara

[edit]

Even if it was a defeat to their own cause, many Spanish Nationalists' didn't felt that way. Or at last, many Spanish soldiers laughed at Italians, unable to defeat Republicans, moking at their "grandeur". Or it could be a way to took distance from CTV defeat. Anyway, in the Nationalist side was born a humor version of Fascist Song "Camisa Nera" (Black Shirt) which chorus said: "Gualadajara no es Abisina/ Aquí los rojos tiran bombas explosivas" ("Gualadajara is not Abisnia/ Here, the Reds throw explosive bombs") --85.48.71.176 02:14, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

About Italian losses

[edit]

The book " Politica e strategia in cento anni di storia d' Italia "( Policy and strategy in one hundred years of Italian wars ) vol 3 " Le guerre italiane degli anni 30 " ( The Italian wars of the 1930s ) author general Mario Montanari published by Historical Office of the General staff of the Italian army ( 2005 ) concerning the Italian losses of Corpo Truppe Volontarie ( CTv ) provides the following figures : 423 dead , 496 prisoners and missing people , 1835 injured — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.67.195.160 (talk) 07:47, 20 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Is the photo accurate?

[edit]

Is the first photo really showing National army fighters with the field gun? I ask because their helmets look suspiciously like those used by the International Brigades rather than the standard Spanish army issue. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.120.69.147 (talk) 14:10, 8 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

These are Italian troops of the CTV. They used Adrian helmets that were of French WWI design and very similar to French helmets used by the International Brigades.RFB (talk) 05:56, 15 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Italian losses

[edit]

Unfortunately I'm unable to obtain access to the referenced book of Coverdale (http://www.jstor.org/stable/j.ctt13x112j) but I was able to find an extract (https://www.jstor.org/stable/260268?read-now=1&seq=16#page_scan_tab_contents, pg.68) that specifically deal with Guadalajara thus I decided to lower the Italian casualties to the currently written Clm45 (talk) 11:01, 6 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
