Hermione ship[edit]

I'm confused by some of the details in this fascinating article. How was Hermione both destroyed, yet survived to undergo a mutiny? Was Pigot British or French?

Thanks for your interest! The answer is that there were two ships named Hermione: a French frigate Hermione (which does not yet have an article) and HMS Hermione (1782). I've tried to make this clearer in the article. Pigot, as stated in the section where he is first mentioned, was British.--Jackyd101 (talk) 21:53, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
