Self-Published Sources

[edit]

The defunct Geocities website: "Axis Biographical Research" [1] is a self-published source. The authors are amateur WWII buffs who (i) are not recognized experts on WWII history and (ii) have not been previously published by independent, reputable, third party publishers within the area of their expertise. Accordingly, per WP:RS and WP:RSN this website cannot be used as a source for a Wikipedia article. At the time this website was being used extensively as a source for numerous Wikipedia articles, several years ago, Wikipedia was less strict about reliable sources than it is now. Other sources which meet the requirements of WP:RS need to be found. Fladrif (talk) 19:45, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
