the battle[edit]

In the first phase (the naval battle, 22 June 1372) only Castilian ships took part. Then began the second phase (a siege, until August 23), where Bertrand du Guesclin commanded the Franco-Castilian forces. --Zaqarbal (talk) 19:06, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The bibliography on this battle usually refers to the same historical sources, and as far as I know, none of them mention French boats taking part in the first phase. Anyway, just in case anyone wants to look up on the chronicles... in French:
