Verifiable?[edit]

The entire historical record on which this article is based is a single sentence by chronicler Ibn Hayyan reporting that at Pancorbo in 816, in a 3-day-long battle, Abd al-Karim ibn Abd al-Wahid ibn Mugit defeated an army led by Velasco the Gascon, Enemy of God, Sahib of Pamplona, and killed him along with García López, uncle of Alfonso II of Asturias, Sancho "premier warrior/knight of Pamplona", and pagan warrior "Ṣaltān".
