Last victory[edit]

Napoleon's last victory was at the Battle of Ligny (16 June 1815) against the Prussians and Blücher - and then his final defeat was at Waterloo. They were two separate battles, under one campaign.

Tone[edit]

Is it just me or does this article lack the tone that Wikipedia’s articles are typically written in? I can’t put my finger on it but it reads very differently than other articles, especially other articles that describe battles. I feel like the article could be much more concise or else better organized so that the facts are presented more clearly. The tone seems slanted somewhat, offering unnecessary opinions and commentaries on the military strategies used by the belligerents. Starzajo (talk) 15:30, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, for some reason I feel like a lot of the sentences are poorly written. It's written in a style that contains a lot of fancy words and redundancies that aren't necessary, and take away from the experience of reading the article. I made some edits, mostly getting rid of unnecessary commas, but there is still a lot of work to do on this article. Zachypacso (talk) 15:01, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal[edit]

I propose merging Battle of St-Dizier into Battle of Saint-Dizier. The pages are duplicates of one another, but this page is more fleshed out. DuckWrangler97 (talk) 18:13, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

After looking deeper into the two articles, I've realized that they state these battles occur on separate dates, exactly two months apart. However, in a cursory dive into other sources on the web, I can't find any reference to a "Battle of Saint-Dizier" on March 26th, 1814.
