Inaccuracy[edit]

The dates given for the battle are not totally accurate. If the name "Santander" in the title of the article refers to the city, then the end of the battle should be the August 26th, when the city was captured by the rebels. If, on the other hand, it refers to the former province of Santander (now Cantabria), then the date should be September 17th, when the last territory of the province fell to the Francoists (Tresviso, in Liébana). Now the article sets neither of these two dates, but September 1st (when Unquera fell).

To add to the confusion, the entry of the article reads: "Santander's fall on September 1 assured the Nationalist conquest of the province of Santander, now Cantabria", where the first "Santander" means the city. The city didn't fall an September 1st, as said before, but on August 26th.

If no one disagrees I'll correct these points in a couple of days.L'irlandés (talk) 21:08, 4 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
