Incorrect information[edit]

The article contradicts the article on American Horse (elder) it links to in that it states he was killed in this battle. The article on A.H. states that this is a common misinterpretation on events. Sorry if I go about this the wrong way, but I wanted to inform you that this stub is faulty. Both the date and commanderes mentioned are incorrect. The same error is repeated in the biographical article on Crazy Horse as far as I have checked.

The actual battle took place on the 9th and 10th of September 1876. For a online citation I found this http://www.angelfire.com/wy/9infantry/battle3.html.

I have changed the location to the Great Sioux Reservation. That's right: U.S. forces attacked the Sioux on land that had been assigned to them, by treaty, after Red Cloud's War. One can see that, in the fourth paragraph of this article someone has stated that the battle took place 'near Riva, South Dakota.' By looking at the purple line denoting the Great Sioux Reservation in its wikipedia article and then locating Reva on a map (it's 25 miles from the state border), one can verify that the battle tool place on the Res. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.18.59.165 (talk) 05:58, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
