Controversy

[edit]

This section seems to be missing any semblance of academic impartiality. "Ha" is hardly appropriate for an encyclopedia article! I suggest that the section be completely reworked, if not deleted outright. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.69.190.75 (talk) 19:08, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mexico as a Country exist from 1821 till this day; before that, it was a part of a Spain with the name of "Nueva España" (New Spain), so Mexico can't be a part of the beligerant nations in this battle —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ggomeztagle (talkcontribs) 18:47, 15 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lack of Neutrality

[edit]

I am reading this article and the French version (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bataille_de_St_George%27s_Caye), and they are night and day - This one reads like "an evil empire fighting against a bunch of nice rebels" while the French version reads like "Spain fighting a bunch of buccaneers which violated a treaty in 1796".

Seems like the whole background should be reworked. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.33.88.148 (talk) 21:36, 19 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
