Articles for individual patches or a "Battlefield 2 Patches" article?
[edit]I've moved the long list of features for the now released patch 1.2 to this article. In the long run however I wonder if it may be better to have a "Battlefield 2 Patches" article listing all available and expected patches, each with their own proper section, in reverse chronological order. - I had originally put a merge tag on this article because I don't think patches for a game deserve an encyclopedic article of their own. I had hoped somebody who knows about this might cut the list down to what is really interesting and useful and put that in the main article. If the information here isn't important enough for the Battlefield 2 article, I think it can just be deleted. Kusma (討論) 21:52, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
- I cant see any merit in this article at all, its more of a detraction on Wikipedia than a useful source of information. As far as I can see, the changelog should be removed and replaced with a link to EA's official patch page, and the rest merged into the Battlefield 2 article. Lets not kid ourselves that a bunch of bug fixes in a computer game is really all that notable. Remy B 11:15, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
- The fixes and features introduced with the patch are considerable, and the information should not disappear completely, but neither should it have its own article. Merge with Battlefield 2, but leave out specifics on technical fixes unless the problems they address are well-known and severe. TaintedMustard 21:45, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
- I agree with Remy B; we should merge all the patch articles with the main Battlefield 2 article, remove the list of changes, then link to EA's list of changes. Bugs and other issues should be left, though. Cosmos 21:10, 19 February 2006 (UTC)

As the article's creator, I have now also come to the opinion that this article should be re-merged with the main Battlefield 2 article. However, I think it would be best if a couple of the 'main' changes were listed with a link to the relevant official website. I don't think a list of new bugs should be necessarily included though, they seem a bit pedantic for an encyclopedia article in my opinion. Canderra 22:02, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
Radeon bug

All that exists are several topics on PlanetBattlefield and other BF2 fansites (including TotalBF2) created by owners of certain specific ATI Radeon cards complaining about the same problem. I have this problem myself (I own a Radeon 9100) so I can verify that the bug is real and does affect many ATI users. Cosmos 19:54, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
