Abandoned track connection to the Brighton Line[edit]

I'm unsure how this should be addressed in the article, but I think it's certainly worth inclusion. It may even be utilized in future transit development if the line is converted. Approaching Ocean Avenue from the east, there is an increase in grade along the south side of the cut indicating a spur. In fact, it's a link to the Brighton Line. The spur turns off the Bay Ridge line between 18th and 19th streets and is still visible from satellite. It's also visible from ground level as current structures and buildings were built to accommodate the connection which cuts straight through several blocks. It connects to the Brighton Line right at the Avenue J station and a still unused lot exists where the lines had met. The rest of the ROW is currently used as parkland up to the Bay Ridge line. A great view of the connection is visible across from the lot on the east side of 16th street as it passes between the Midwood branch of the Brooklyn Library and an apartment building.
